Leanne graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) with a BFA in Apparel Design. Since graduation, she has been looking for opportunities to make products that are better by all definitions. As a Junior Designer at a start-up, Mother Freedom, Leanne worked on luxury quality goods Made in America. She was attracted to the company's pitch to create custom-fit garments in a factory across the hall from the design studio.
Interested on bridging the gap between technology and clothing, Leanne has worked in both the fashion industry as well as in robotics research. She has been a part of leading exoskeleton teams at both the Harvard Wyss Institute, and Otherlab.
Leanne is interested in building digital fabrication tools for customization of soft goods and garments. Check out her blog the fashion robot for more on this topic!
